Why a New Library? Print E-mail

The theme of the capital campaign – “A Great University Deserves a Great Library” – speaks for itself. From the earliest beginnings of civilization, libraries and learning have gone hand in hand.

The famous universities have also had famous libraries – from the Bodleian at Oxford to the Widener at Harvard. But even more modest universities have prided themselves on the excellence of their library resource.

It is our contention that our theme, our dream, can be realized at Uganda Christian University (UCU), a young and upcoming university in Africa. We would dare to believe that UCU can develop within the next few years a first-class library that will serve the students and the wider society in Uganda and East Africa with excellence in library and information resources.
