First lady to grace Safe Motherhood day

The first lady, Janet Museveni shares a moment with Prof. Steven Noll at the opening of Mirembe block. The block hosts Save The Mothers offices. The first lady of Uganda, Janet Museveni is expected to be the chief guest at this year’s Safe Motherhood day to be held at UCU.
The Safe Motherhood day, dubbed, the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Nation’s Day will be the first of its kind in what is expected to become an annual event to promote awareness of the plight of mothers in Uganda.

Areopagus gets new leaders

Last week, the tenure of Rev. Daniel Button and Doug Fountain expired as leaders of African Areopagus Society.
Subsequently, the society elected a new executive from its members and also held the first public presentation this semester.
The New Chairman of the society is Rev. Amos Turyahabwe while the new General Secretary is Dismas Bwesigye.

Bazaar gets more exciting

Strategically hanged garments shouted their beauties while hundreds of items, resting under tent-shades awaited their admirers. Hundreds, if not thousands of feet roamed allover; customers searched for their choices, and indeed the ground looked a business hub.

Where does Mukono's garbage go?

Ronald Miilo is a shop owner in Kikooza. On June 12, he woke up at 6am and sat on the left side of the shop’s verandah. With a sack full of garbage on the extreme right, he waited patiently for the town council truck that passes through the village collecting waste.
