Elegant Internet café and video library is one of the new business ventures that have made this place lively and suiting to the standards of the residents.
Located on Lukabwe Building, about 30 metres from the Technology Park gate, the small, yet busy business takes place.
A big banner hangs in front of the shop, clearly distinguishing it from any other businesses in the area.
Presently, Elegant is the sole internet provider in Bugujju.
The Café has five computers that are kept busy from 8:00am to 11:00pm at night.
"We wanted to have few computers so as to provide a broad band," says Nixon Tusiime, one of the Administrators.
He adds that the purpose of setting up the café was to serve the students' community especially in regards to research and coursework material.
In one corner of the room, are small shelves with the latest movies ranging from series, cartoons and Christian movies and self help videos.
Each DVD is 1000 and rented out for three days. To ensure proper management of the videos, the clients leave their ID cards behind and collect them on return of the movies.
"Just like any other business, there are risks involved. We have not realised any like losing DVDs but when that happens we are prepared," Tusiime says about the video library which is usually the most selling business in the evenings and on the weekends.
Tusiime who is a student of BBA spends most of the evenings at the Café to oversee the running of the business. In the next five years, the Management hopes to see a big ICT workshop and video library.
