Those of you who know me probably cannot believe you are reading these words. It is likely you have never heard me talk about my faith. Take this as another example of how God finds us or rather lets us find him even when we run away and try to hide.
Like many children who grew up in the church, I have tried to keep away from it, having been involved for so long. It’s a strange phenomenon common among pastor’s children. I’m sure my parents would love to see me once again embrace the church as I did when I was a child. But ironically, their decision to let me go as I please is the main reason why I found God. By letting me test my strength in the world, they allowed me to see how weak I am without God. I have never once publicly shared about my faith and I believe it is no coincidence this article was chosen. I have been reluctant because I’m new in my faith and still unsure of so many things. No spiritual journey is the same as another and I still have many questions and I will continue asking. But for now, let it be enough that I believe in God and he, in me. |
