Students debate Mabira giveaway

By Sam Wakhakha, :: 27-09-2011

At the beginning of the debate, there was no quorum in the house yet the issue to be debated seemed to be on the lips of every Ugandan. The organisers decided to just pick on guys at random to come and debate.
   The majority of those picked wanted to oppose the giveaway of the coveted forest. For purposes of letting the debate have life, people who clearly did not support the giveaway at heart decided to support the idea.  This made the debate very interesting .As time  went on , people trickled in slowly although in end,the debate still remained poorly attended.
   In the end,the opposers took the day. The debate was organised by the UCU Media link. The debate though suffered from having a small audience ,it showed that today’s Ugandan university student rather attends a music concert than a philosophical debate.
