Although survivor night had lots of interesting activities, there was a low turn-up. Nevertheless, the night was worth it because it was characterised by fantastic performances from different student groups.
The first people to open the session were a group of children from Children Youth Ministries. The acting skills that the kids displayed showed that Uganda had many future movie stars. Not only did they act but also narrate some their life ordeal. Being orphans under the care of the ministry, the children told the audience how they were picked from the gutters. One of the children named Akello told the audience that she lost both her parents when still young. She was left under the care of her grandmother. Later an uncle picked her from the village in Apac to come and do baby-sitting. In the course of her new job, she was picked by the Children Youth Ministries and taken to school. She is now in senior three. Later, the usual suspects appeared. It was first TLM and later Survivor. TLM performed something close to ballet-they were dancing in pairs; pairs here meaning the ladies with the gentlemen. The next group onto the stage was Survivor and as usual they perfected the art of acting and dancing. The low turn-up that night could have been attributed to the fact that the examinations were approaching. |
