From the appearance of things, it seemed most donors to Save-a-Buddy initiative were not present, yet the event was
the moment for them to be thanked. No lecturer was present and very few students attended. It was not only tea that was served but cakes and other drinks like water and sodas. Apart from the soft drinks, another activity that dominated the Save-a-Buddy tea party was entertainment in form of different people coming up the stage to play a music instrument or rap. Others who could not do either of this immediately embarked on taking pictures, uploading them on sites such as Facebook and Twitter. There were also different styles of fashion on display. The initiative’s founder Perez Onyait for example donned red play-shorts, white shirt and a red neck tie. On the whole, had the event been held in the morning, many who could not have afforded breakfast could have showed up to boost the numbers but a tea party on a hot afternoon may have put many off. |
