Bishop Barham University College has opened a liaison office in Kigali, Rwanda. The office has been specifically opened to cater for the needs of students hailing from Rwanda. The office was officially opened by the Principal, Prof. Manuel Muranga.
During the function, Prof. Muranga noted that a lot of bond existed between Uganda and Rwanda. He said the two countries had a lot of things in common especially on the side of the Anglican faith where they formerly shared a bishop until the 1970s. He added that in Uganda, it is common for people to share good things. For example, when Bishop Barham started quality education, he and his colleagues felt it was vital to share with their neighbours in Rwanda. He stressed that UCU’s graduates are the most cherished by employers because of the value added to them during their study. He said the seven foundation courses of Worldviews, Writing and Study Skills, Ethics, Health and Wholeness, Elements of Mathematics, New Testament and Old Testament studies that UCU teaches are exceptional because through them, moral and spiritual values are imparted to students. On his part, the Public Relations Assistant, Reuben Twinomujuni, while meeting students in different schools in Kigali before the function, said Bishop Barham University College stands on Christian values and everything is tailored towards Christianity. The Provincial Secretary of the Anglican Church of Rwanda, Rev. Anastas Mashyaka, said Bishop Barham College is welcome in Rwanda and promised cooperation with it. Bishop Barham University College has opened other offices in Kamwenge, Kasese, Kanungu, Bushenyi and Rukungiri and continues to open more in other areas and countries. |
