Students with disabilities on many occasions find a lot of challenges during study time.
Personally, if it was not for the effort of my mother, I would not have made any progress in education. This is because of the challenges I faced, for example: being isolated by my classmates, especially in primary school; being accused and abused because of my being lame; and the failure and sometimes finding difficulty in climbing upstairs for my classes. I appeal to the UCU community to love, support and encourage people with disabilities (PWDs). I want to commend the Director of Student’s Affairs (DOSA), Rev. Milton Tweheyo, and the Disability Student’s Association patron, Rev. Henry Katumba, for the effort, love, compassion, guidance and encouragement they have rendered to us. Let’s join our hands together in giving a chance to children with disabilities to excel. |
