Joseph Musaalo, the university counsellor, has advised Christians to strive to get to know their own strengths and weaknesses before they can help others.
Speaking about social skills during community hour on Tuesday November 29, the counsellor said many Christians do not know their own values, weaknesses and strengths.
“Before you attempt to help other people are you aware of the difficulties in your own life and have you sought help for them?” asked Musaalo.
He said whereas one might think they are helping others, they may only be passing their own weaknesses on to them.
Musaalo also told Christians not to whirl in self-pity thinking they are the worst because each and every one is created in God’s image.
