Refuse abortion-Senyonyi

Ruth Senyonyi has called on Christians to shun abortion and report anyone found aiding it.
Senyonyi is a counselling psychologist with BOU clinic.
She was speaking at Nkoyoyo hall during community hour.
According to International Family Planning Perspective Journal (2005), each year an estimated 297,000 induced abortions are performed in Uganda and nearly 85,000 women are treated for complications.
Abortions occur at a rate of 54 per 1,000 women aged 15-49 and account for one in five pregnancies.
In a rare community worship hour that saw her illustrate graphic pictures of aborted babies with the aid of a projector, Senyonyi called on Christians not to accept legalisation of abortion in Uganda.
“Human life is not an accident of biology. God gives life purposely and deliberately. Legalising abortion does not make it right.”
Senyonyi said an argument by pro-abortionists that the foetus is just tissue is a lie; adding that God and only He creates life and has the right to take it.
She called upon Christians to be stewards of their bodies and to have self-control well knowing that they belong to God.
“Your body was bought for a price. It is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Stay away from sexual immorality.”
Sections 136 to 138 and 207 of the Penal Code Act (cap.120); provide that any person who with intent procures a miscarriage of a woman is subject to imprisonment for 14 years.
It furthermore states that, a pregnant woman who consents to such an act faces 7 years in jail.
And that any person who unlawfully supplies means to procure an abortion knowing that it is unlawfully intended for that purpose is subject to three years’ imprisonment.
