Which bus are you driving?

Kyeyune williamThe other day, while walking to the Dining Hall (DH), I bumped into a friend whom I had not seen in such a long while: We ended up sitting at the same table and catching up on each other’s news.

As we ate, I noticed a big bus at the entrance, which I later learned was going to take a team to a retreat. I was amazed by its size -- really huge!
Not very long after, the engine roared, catching our attention.
The bus turned from the corner of the DH just next to Sabiti. From where I sat, it was like a camel trying to get through the eye of a needle! But the driver was able to turn this beast perfectly without knocking anything and yet there were no people to direct him!
“I have learnt to appreciate the skills of different people in the field of their work!” my friend remarked.
I did not pay attention to the statement; but when he said it a second time, it made a lot of sense.
We all have huge buses in life like the talents, skills and abilities we all have, which only we can drive.
For some people, this huge bus is singing. And when they begin to sing, you listen in amazement!
For others it is it is soccer. For some it is leadership; they bring order when they take charge. Others have such a caring personality, while again others do the little things that often go unnoticed; they clean after us when we have eaten and walked all over the floor with soiled shoes. Others are strong, and we feel safe around them.
The bigger challenge is that we should learn to appreciate each other’s bus rather than speak negatively about them. And learn from them as you too impact their lives. Let us live in harmony with each other, using our strengths to bear one another’s weakness. This is the way God has designed us.
With this in mind, there is only one way I can conclude this article: Vroooom! May God bless you.
