A UCU lecturer, Mesarch Katusiimeh has published an article in The African Studies Quarterly journal. Mesarch Katusiimeh's article Environmental Legacies of Major Events: Solid Waste Management and the Commonwealth Heads of Government in Kampala investigated whether environmental improvements-and especially those related to solid waste- materialised during the 2007 CHOGM meeting in Kampala.
It was found that there was an impact on the subject within a year after the hosting of CHOGM. This is his fourth article appearing in a journal.
Meanwhile, Prof. Bukenya Kigongo, a UCU lecturer and leading scholar in Library and Information Science also travelled to Costa Rica to present a paper.
