End of May Semester’s examinations will start next week. “Lectures will end on Wednesday this week and examinations are scheduled to run from August 9 – 17.
May Semester officially closes on August 17 for non Residents, but Resident Students can leave after breakfast on August 18,” says UCU Director of Teaching and Learning, Sylvia Kajubi. “We urge students to make adequate preparations for the coming examinations. I advise them to be cautious and conversant with exam regulations, but above all they should resist temptations to indulge in acts of exam malpractices,” she added. Kajubi who spoke during an interview in her office last week hinted that her department will liaise with respective faculties and departments to ensure a smooth examinations process. “I implore and expect examination officials to be vigilant during this exercise; only registered students must be allowed into exams rooms and cases of malpractice must be closely monitored and forwarded for disciplinary actions,” Kajubi said. About last semester’s exams, Kajubi said the exercise ran smoothly except for isolated cases of malpractices, which she said were accordingly handled by the university disciplinary committee. Kajubi advised students to approach Academic Affairs without fear. |
