The Vice Chancellor’s Award has been launched with nine students benefiting from the scheme. The ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. John Senyonyi, on Tuesday September 27 in Nkoyoyo Hall.
“This award is intended to recognize, appreciate and reward outstanding students both in character and academics and it is valid for one academic year before re-nomination,” said Dr. Senyonyi.
He also mentioned that if a student consistently won this award over his or her years of study then he would automatically merit to be sponsored on a higher level of education.
The Faculty of Science and Technology (FOST) had the highest representation of five of the nine, including the top most students. The remaining four came from the Faculty of Divinity and Child Development. The top three students receive full tuition and the two runner-ups will get three quarters and a half respectively.
