Uganda Christian University, Arua campus, on 5th November held a thanksgiving ceremony for their graduates and alumni at Kamure Park Hotel in Arua town.
The ceremony that started with a procession around Arua town saw the commissioning of diploma and certificate graduates.
“It was a graduation thanksgiving for Arua campus alumni who graduated between 2005 and 2011, in the various courses like degrees, diploma and certificate programmes,” the director, Christopher Yikki Agatre said.
Notable among the alumni, were top local government officials from the region.
They included Arua LC 5 chairman, Hon Sam Waadri, who recently graduated with a Bachelor of Development Studies, the Maracha LC 5 chairman, Emmanuel Achadribo, the Arua District Council speaker, Genesis Achema, who represented the local government at the occasion.
Achema pledged the local government support for the university.
The Guest of Honour was the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Development and External Relations, Mr. Doug Fountain, who was represented by coordinator for Regional Colleges, Rev Canon John Kateeba.
