Over 130 students have been rescued from having dead semesters. The students were helped to complete their fees balances through the Guild Fund and the Save-A-Buddy initiative.
The Guild Fund this semester has rescued over 120, whereas Save-A-Buddy rescued 13 people. In the past, the guild government has always rescued 100 per semester through the Guild Fund. But this time there were more than 120, according to the education ministry. Other fundraising efforts through fellowships and car-washing also rescued students. The number rescued here could not be established by The Standard as not all of them were formally registered. Attempts by The Standard to get the figures of the number of students that have been cleared to sit for this semester's examinations were unsuccessful. By press time, the admissions office was still compiling the list of those who have been cleared to sit their papers. |
