Safety is of great concern in any community. There will always be sections of the community who unfortunately participate in crime; which is why we have a police force.
Every community makes it a priority to protect and inform their members about how to protect themselves and others from criminal behaviour. The guild president was recently attacked by thieves. This goes a long way to show that we are not all immune to danger. Students should endeavour to be careful, especially at night wherever there are and mind their safety. Here are a few tips on how to be alert against criminal activity. First and foremost, do not walk alone at night unless you absolutely have to. If you have to, make sure you use road paths that are not isolated. Do not board taxis that are empty or have one or two people in them; there have been reports of thieves masquerading as taxi operators in order to entice victims. Do not confront criminals if you see them committing crimes; rather run away ( yes run away) and report to the police. I would like to request the UCU community to stay safe and be aware. Any more information comes to the Guild or goes to the police post. The Guild President is doing well and sends his greetings. Serving you always.
