A new Guild president has been elected.  Like those before him, he a chance to make an impact on the students life at Uganda Christian University for the next year and even beyond.

As the top students body, the guild is a very important institution at the university.  Previous guild governments at UCU have had their achievements as well as challenges.  The most glaring of the challenges had been accountability, especially in the guild of three to four years. While this is largely improved, it is always a challenge to improve and not drop back.
The new president therefore has got to look to the future while taking a glance at his back and just ensure that the ugly scandals to not come back.
One the achievements of the last two administrations as been the Guild Fund. While it has come in handy to help students in need, of recent its transparency has been questioned. That is another challenge the new president will have to look into early in his term. He will have to review the structure of the current fund and see how to improve it.
Other issues that the Guild will need to address include provision of entertainment, especially a regular subscription to digital TV providers.
