Now that you have “fallen into things,” to use a local expression, here are a few tips that will protect you from the trappings of power. I am sure you have heard about the intoxicating effect of powerful positions. Remember you have been called to serve.
Keep in mind, you are a steward of the resources that come with your office.
Remember the painful repercussions that could follow such as dismissal. Our recent history has had some of those.
Your position as a student leader should be taken seriously. It is part of training for future leadership. If you think of the big names in public life, they were once student leaders.
Your potential as a student leader could one day propel you to national leadership.
If you are faithful now it is likely you will be faithful when you are entrusted with more. Being in student
leadership could open doors you never dreamed of.
