A jack of all trades is probably the best way to describe this man. To some, he is the recently married family man, to others; he is the Chairperson Local Council III in Kabale Municipality, while to others more he is a small time businessman.
To most of us, however, he was the best student of Business Administration at BBUC. He was awarded a first class degree of BBA from BBUC. Popularly referred to as 'chairman', Byamugisha Sentaro was the only student awarded a first class degree in Business Administration, this did not, however, come as a surprise to him because he had expected to get that kind of degree. He had put in a lot to attain the best from education. His degree in BBA is his first bachelor's degree but he has been to university before. He holds a diploma of Architecture from Kyambogo University despite the fact that he had qualified to pursue a bachelor's programme. "I was admitted to Makerere University for a Bachelor of Economics, I, however, turned the programme down because I considered it a flat course, which is why I opted for Architecture, which I thought was professional." Sentaro said. He also added that he considered studying business because he hopes to join main stream politics which to him requires an informed knowledge of business. That, however, is not his only reason for pursuing business studies The 35 year old says he did BBA because his father had wanted him to follow that path because of the accounts background that he himself has. Born and raised in Butoobere village in Kabale District, Sentaro is the third child in a family of ten children that has arguably had an enviable upbringing. "While in school I don't remember going through the hardship of being sent home for unpaid school fees. I also got almost all in needed and so did my siblings, the worst I ever went through was changing school because of health reasons." Sentaro explained. "I attended my primary school at Bubaale Boarding Primary School from P1 to P6 before I was transferred to Butoobere Primary School for P7 because of active sinuses that required monitoring." Sentaro later moved to Kigezi College Butoobere for all his secondary school education before moving to Kyambogo University and Bishop Burham College for his diploma and bachelor's degrees respectively. Sentaro is currently Kabale Municipality central division's LC III chairperson and hope to further his education to probably master's level in the next five years. "In five years I want you to know me as the MP of Kabale Municipality who even has a master's degree," Sentaro added. |
