Everyone knows that running an office has never been a one man show. That is why Isaac Katono was appointed Associate Dean of Faculty of Business and Administration.
Like many, he joined UCU on part time basis in 1997 and only became a full time lecturer of Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Research methods in 2000. “This is an opportunity to serve UCU in a new capacity to improve the Faculty’s product and make UCU more competitive than before,” Isaac says. As associate Dean, he hopes, together with the Dean of faculty, to improve and devise strategies to position the faculty competitively. “We hope to come up with publications in the faculty to improve research skills of staff so as to be visible researchers internationally,” he says adding that with the guidance of the top administration and team work from the faculty, much more may be realised in the faculty. In addition to teaching at UCU, Katono has coordinated research in faculty of Business, Faith in teaching project and Entrepreneurship and Management. He is also the editor of UCU research bulletin, a bi-annual publication of the school of Post graduate and research. To office, he comes with a heart ready to work hard to contribute to the growth of UCU, anchoring his hope on God. To the students, he says, hard work and research to compliment lecturers’ work is key to success, and to the staff, he requests maximum cooperation to realise mission and goals of the faculty. Katono is married to Christine and they have three children, Jim, Angela and Sam. |
