Edigar Injairi, Bifa

He does not only express himself through art, but, lets his art shine in music and dance. Edgar Injairu, a BIFA graduate says music is one of the things that help him to concentrate while working on his art pieces.

“I cannot do my printing without music. It is the sound of it that sends me into deeper concentration,” he says. He is also a member of the Touch Life Ministries (TLM).
He expresses himself through his work, which he does with one idea in mind that yields so many ideas from those that observe his work.
He draws his inspiration from his father who is also an artist. “My father always says that anything is possible if you put your mind to it,” he says.  He adds, friends take up a lot of time and if one is not careful to choose only those with focused minds, there is always danger awaiting.
It was not uncommon to find Edgar attending cultural galas at UCU. It was from such events that he drew ideas for his works and also earned a GPA 4.43. “There are many rich cultures In Uganda that can never go unnoticed,” he says.
For a person who was born and attained his primary and O’level education in Kenya, language barrier and loneliness worked for his disadvantage during his stay at UCU.
However, what kept him going was the urge to work hard, a virtue he learned from home, and the hope that he would get what he wanted out of his degree.
He plans to pursue a Masters degree in Interior or Graphic design with the goal of becoming an inspiration to upcoming artists through his work. Edigar also hopes to become a lecturer at any university in East Africa and a politician someday.
To the young people, he advises, “if you want something in life, work hard at it, choose the right friends, pray and you will achieve it.”
