Sarah Rukundo BBA

Surprised! That was Sarah Rukundo’s expression when she learnt that she was graduating with a first class degree.
Unlike most students that had to concentrate on one course, Rukundo was juggling two courses at the same time. She was studying BBA at UCU during the day and ACCA in the evenings.

“It was really hard to balance the two since my evening lectures started at 6pm yet my day lectures ended at 5pm,” she says adding that, looking back, the struggle was worth it. With a GPA 4.49, she was among the best students of the faculty. Hopefully, she will also finish her second level of ACCA next July.
One of the reasons she decided to do her bachelors in Business at UCU, was because of the Christian reputation that the university has.  “I also knew that I would walk away with my transcript without a hustle,” she added.
She hopes to do auditing and assurance, and pursue an MBA after ACCA. Her motivation for this is ‘Never to give up because the best is yet to come.’
Sarah attributes her success to her parents, especially her dad who always reminded her that she could achieve all in life and she is the only one who can draw a limitation.
To students, she advises, ‘success is not about being on top of your class, but doing your best in life.’
One of the many things she will miss about UCU is the Christian environment, chapel choir and the student-friendly lecturers who offered help whenever she needed it.
