Pilots flop

The Pilots gave way to both the JM State House team and YK team during the on-going Badminton League. The games were played at the Entebbe Social Hall on Sunday, September 18.
Badminton requires high alertness, skill and flexibility. All in one word ‘fitness’. The Pilots’ poor performance might just be attributed to the former and even much more.
In the men’s singles Alex Muwaya was subjected to merciless attacks by Steve Odoch of JM to lose both sets. In doubles, Allan and Alex Muwaya were no better against Francis Babu and Odoch as they lost on the decisive set in the best-of-three series.
The mixed doubles which placed Pilots’ captain Ronald Byaruhanga and Doreen Alum  against YK’s Ramadhan Mansul and Betty Apio ended on 1-2 in YK’s favour. On the ladies side, Jackie Kobusinge beat Betty Apio 2-0 but her alliance with Alum in the women’s doubles was deemed weaker after they lost to Apio Betty and Suzan Chemonges of JM team.
The captain noted the lack of consistency during training and poor time management. “We are looking for talented players to join the team and all interested students are highly invited,” said Byaruhanga.
