The UCU football team has recruited some fresh blood in a bid to nurture young talent for the future team. The new entrants include Jovan Mitala and Fred Mikka are both first-year students while young Mark Okello has just completed A-level from Kyambogo College School.
Assistant coach, Mark Twinamatsiko revealed that the trio has started training with the team. “They have talent which can be developed. They are our future potential star footballers,” Twinamatsiko said. The team has been scouting for young and talented footballers to nurture into footballers for the UCU squad. Okello has been playing football with the Kyambogo school team. Coach Twinamatsiko spotted Mitala and Mikka as they were playing during intramural league last year. With any eye for upcoming football stars, Twinamatsiko had no troble notcing the young talent. “Just throw a ball to the person and you will know whether the person is a goalkeeper or a player,” he said. Twinamatsiko says that as a team, they are highly committed to fostering talent growth. |
