Development Office

The Development Office raises money for recurrent budget, for special projects/initiatives, and for capital requirements. This office maintains relationships with current and prospective donors and partners, and submits requests to funders.

Margaret Kiwanuka (Mrs) heads the development office.

A key strategy is to maintain international funding sources while augmenting local philanthropy. The Development office will research potential donors and their programmes and manage memoranda of understanding with partners. 

One development strategy pursued by UCU is establishment of a subsidiary, UCU Holdings, in order to conduct investments and business projects.  

  • Domestic Partners and Donor Relations. This unit works with East Africa donors and partners and funding sources.  
  • International partners and donors. This unit liaises with overseas support societies in the United States (Uganda Partners), United Kingdom (Uganda Partners UK), and Australia.  
  • Alumni Affairs.  This office already is the link between UCU management and the tens of thousands of alumni.
