In addition to regular UCU requirements for all students, the following applies:
• Hold a UCE & UACE Certificate with 1 Principal Pass and 2 Subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting
• International applicants must have qualifications that are recognized for University entry in their respective countries.

Two years with maximum of four years to complete

Social work professionals are recognized as leaders in social change, development, empowerment and liberation. Based in Christian principles, the Diploma of Social Work Programme reinforces not only nurturing and caring for the marginalized population, but also provides curriculum and practical application of social justice and human rights and addresses life challenges, wellbeing and respect for diversity.

Through lectures, discussion and projects requiring critical thinking, foundational, and content-specifi c knowledge are delivered in courses. In addition to foundation courses focused are writing and study skills, Old and New Testament, in additional to topic courses in psychology, anthropology, sociology, social work, economics, rural development issues, nonprofit organizations, work with elderly and terminally ill, child and family social work and project planning.

Graduates are qualified for positions that include probation officer, social welfare officer, medical and clinical social worker, child protection officer, career advisor, charity officer, counselor, social activist and youth and adult guidance workers.
